Overview
Lo River (274 km long, 39,000 m2) is one of the largest rivers in the North of Vietnam, located in the mountainous province of Ha Giang.
Song Lo 2 Hydroelectricity is one of six terraced works on the Lo River in Ha Giang province, builted in Dao Duc commune, Vi Xuyen district, about 15 km downstream from Ha Giang city. The dam route is geographically located at 104o 58′ 23″” east longitude and 22o 43′ 21″” north latitude.
Song Lo 2 hydropower plant has an installed capacity of 2×14 MW. The reservoir has a capacity of 9.29 million m3, a normal water level rise of 93 meters, and a dead water level of 91.5 meters. The average annual electricity output reaches 85 million kWh.

The history and development
Lo River (Song Lo: 274 km long, with a basin area of 39,000 m2) is one of the largest rivers in the North of Vietnam, located in the mountainous province of Ha Giang.
For a long time, this place has been known as an iconic image of Ha Giang City, famous for its potential for power generation with six hydroelectric plants being developed and connected to the national grid.
The Song Lo 2 Hydropower Plant, owned by BB Power Holdings and related companies (100%), is located on National Highway 2 in Dao Duc Commune, Vi Xuyen District, Ha Giang Province, 15 kilometers from Ha Giang city. BB Power Holdings purchased the project in 2019, one year after it was officially launched.
Song Lo 2 (28 MW) covers a length of 12 km of riverbed and is typical of a small hydroelectric plant that utilizes the natural flow of the river due to its low head. Therefore, the designs are optimized, and the environmental impact is minimized.
The factory always promotes social and environmental friendliness in the project and surrounding areas. Despite the challenges left by the previous owners, BB Group strongly believes in the development potential of Song Lo 2 through the production improvement plan that has been implemented for 2022. The factory will also be enhanced in the coming years, adding to the beauty of the poetic Lo River and the new developments of Ha Giang City that are constantly advancing.
